My experience

Before freelance editing, I was an editor at HQ Stories, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, for four years. I worked with talented debut authors, as well as Sunday Times, New York Times, USA Today, and international bestsellers and edited a range of exciting commercial and literary fiction books from crime series to historical fiction to coming-of-age novels. Before HarperCollins, I worked at leading literary agency David Higham Associates, where I gained valuable insight into what makes a submission stand out and how writers can succeed.
Before publishing, I taught English language and writing in Italy. At John Cabot University in Rome, I taught language courses and tutored students in creative and academic writing. Before moving to Italy, I worked with writers in TV development at Amazon Studios in Los Angeles for two years. I read script submissions and wrote notes on scripts and series, including Transparent, Mozart in the Jungle, and Catastrophe. We were the American team who acquired Fleabag before it became a global hit.
Not only have I received in-house training from some of the most highly skilled publishing professionals in the business, but I have also trained with the London School of Publishing and the Publishing Training Centre in copy-editing, and proofreading. As a dual citizen who has lived and worked in the UK and the US, I am confident with British and American English and working with your preferred style. I have always been interested in people and stories and have a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
I work with publishing houses and individual authors in many different countries. I have lived in many places around the world and I am now London-based with my husband and baby daughter. I would love to work with you and help your story succeed.

Trusted by authors and publishing professionals around the world

I loved working with Rebecca on my debut novel, The Deadly Spark. Super-friendly, such a good eye for detail and so good at coming up with ideas and suggestions, Rebecca really helped shape my novel into something great, and I'm so pleased I had the chance to work with her.
